Pre & Post Remediation Testing

Due to the ever increasing concerns of the negative effects of mold contamination in your indoor environments,  Mold Pros of Ohio has created a benchmark of excellence in structural mold remediation in residential and commercial properties.  Once it has been determined through testing that the mold needs to be removed, then a remedy or a plan  needs to be created to eliminate the source and result of mold contamination.  This is known as a remediation plan.

Mold Pros of Ohio highly recommends that PRE-remediation testing is completed BEFORE any mold removal and remediation begins.  This PRE-remediation testing obtains a sampling of the indoor environment through direct sampling and air quality testing.  This PRE-remediation testing helps to allow Mold Pros of Ohio to create a strategy for remediation, defining the actions needed to be taken to return the property to a Condition 1 (normal fungal ecology) status.

The importance of PRE-remediation testing is that once this assessment has been completed, those recommendations get applied in the remediation strategy, utilizing engineering controls, containment strategies, actual mold removal, surface treatment (HEPA vacuuming, sanitizing and encapsulating).

Following the remediation project, a POST-remediation verification should then be performed which will include visual and air quality sampling methodologies to verify that the structures, systems and contents have been returned to a Condition 1 status.

To avoid and eliminate potential conflicts of interest,  Mold Pros of Ohio highly recommends that the mold remediation company and the air quality/sampling testing company be two unrelated organizations.  In states such as Texas and Florida,  state law prohibit remediation companies from performing their own testing.  The goal is to receive an unbiased, scientifically determined report that reflects the return of the property to a Condition 1 status or information to cause the remediation company to return to your property and complete the mold remediation so that a Condition 1 status can be achieved.

Pre-remediation and Post-remediation testing are critical barometers to determine the strategies for remediation and to verify that complete mold eradication has in fact occurred through the mold remediation plan.
